In another visit to the National Palace, the United States ambassador, Ken Salazar, highlighted that, in the bilateral relationship, we are having a lot of success
. After meeting with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Secretary of the Treasury, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, in the historic building, the diplomat stressed that, between both nations, we are already linked, and we are going to link more.
The representative of the Washington government answered, seriously, the questions that were put to him regarding the bilateral relationship. The reporters insisted that he answer them about the meeting with the president, once they waited and saw the secretary of Energy, Rocío Nalhe, and the Mexican ambassador to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma, leave the premises – without agreeing to testify.
The Texan Salazar – who usually enters and leaves the National Palace through the side door on Moneda Street – was heading in the direction of the truck that was waiting for him and stopped when a reporter asked one of his escorts not to push her. The diplomat responded briefly to those who waited for him for more than two hours:
I was with Rogelio Ramírez de la O; (we comment) the strong and united ties between the United States and Mexico; this is, then, the economic bond between the United States and Mexico, and the shared vision between President Joe Biden and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, on the economy, that we are already linked and we are going to link more.
When asked, while walking, about the situation of the bilateral relationship, the diplomat replied: The relationship between the United States and Mexico is good, we are working on this bicentennial, in the framework of security, there is much to do between the two nations and we are working on that. And that is where we are focused, there is a lot of success that we are having, there is a lot to do moving forward and that is where we are committed.
