The Minister of Labor Kelly Olmos It spread this Thursday that the Government seeks that the parity agreements of this 2023 do not exceed the 60% guideline. This is in line with the objectives of the ruling party.
The official He assured that the Executive’s idea “is to bring inflation forecast for 2023 to around 60%,” according to the Budget, and add “some recovery point” to it, as indicated Kelly Olmos.
“What we are doing this year, with the primary responsibility of the Minister of Economy (Sergio Massa), has been to talk with the different actors about the need to gradually converge towards a deceleration of the nominal value and inflation”, he explained Kelly Olmos in dialogue with radio AM 750.
The minister also stated that the guideline proposed for the parities is not an agreement with the unions, “but rather a policy that we promote,” which has the “majority support of the CGT” (General Confederation of Labor of the Argentinian republic).
“We promote everything in which there is an agreement between the labor movement and the business sector, and we believe that Argentina has to gain in productivity, but that every time that happens it has to be associated with redistribution among workers,” he said.
And he added: “In the same way as last year, the Government, faced with the inflationary deployment or the inflationary explosion that occurred towards the middle of the year, promoted the reopening and review of joint negotiations to avoid a significant loss of capacity acquisitive part of wages”.
The minister ruled out a labor reform
When asked about the statements by Antonio Aracre, who will become the president’s new chief of advisers in February, about a possible labor reform, the minister explained: “The Government does not consider this initiative.”
“Aracre himself recognized that the labor reform was his personal idea and that the President of the Nation and his government clearly do not have this initiative in the pipeline”he expressed.
And he added: “Whenever there is an agreement between the workers and the employers, it is possible to include a review. We have never thought from this Government about a law of a general nature”.
