The tax complaints faced by the former presidential candidate, Keiko Fujimorifor the alleged crime of criminal organization, falsification of documents and attempted manipulation in the last 2021 electoral elections, were archived by the Public Ministry after this autonomous body did not find clear evidence against the daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori.
This investigation was opened on July 8, 2021, after a complaint filed by former judge Malzon Urbina.
What was the support of the Prosecutor’s Office?
The investigation faced by the leader of Fuerza Popular began on July 8, 2021, a scenario in which the Prosecutor’s Office argued that Fujimori Higuchi had paid large sums of money to voters so that they direct their votes in favor of his candidacy for the presidency for that electoral period.
The payments, according to the investigations of the Public Ministry, they bordered on 4 thousand dollars. Likewise, the State entity supported the hypothesis that the ex-congresswoman Fujimori would have disbursed more than 12 thousand dollars for said purposes with the slogan of making her president of Peru.
However, after analyzing the evidence presented by the prosecution, the Prosecutor’s Office was inclined to dismiss the charges against the former candidate of Fuerza Popular.
“The imputation is based on the statement of a person, who has not even complied (with his commitment) to present the evidence that he indicated that he had in his possession, despite the repeated requirements of the prosecutor’s office,” it is expressed in the document presented. by the Public Ministry.
It should be noted that this decision is not set in stone, since the measure could be reviewed by a higher prosecutor’s office. In this sense, the Internal Public Order Prosecutors and the National Election Jury will have a period of five days to file an appeal if they consider it necessary.
