Keiko Fujimori: Prosecutor José Domingo Pérez is excluded from the investigation against her for money laundering

José Domingo Pérez

The senior prosecutor coordinating the Special Team of Prosecutors excluded, exceptionally, the provincial prosecutor Jose Domingo Perez of the fiscal investigation that is being carried out against the leader of Fuerza Popular Keiko Fujimori Higuchi for the alleged commission of the crime of money laundering against the State.

Consequently, it was decided that the process would be taken on by the specialized corporate supraprovincial prosecutors’ offices specializing in money laundering crimes that were on duty at the date the resolution was issued.

Pérez’s resignation is due to alleged obstruction of justice in the case of Keiko Fujimori and others. In practice, this acknowledges that there was a violation of the rules of due process, as noted by the Constitutional Court.

According to reports, prosecutor Manuela Rosana Villar Ramírez will now be in charge of leading the investigation against the former presidential candidate.
