The Judicial Power, through the judge Wilson Verasteguiwill evaluate the request presented by the legal defense of Keiko Fujimoriwhich requests the annulment of the tax accusation against the leader of Popular Force and another 14 investigated for the alleged crime of money laundering within the framework of the Cocktails case. The magistrate will analyze this request this Friday, December 19.
The request is presented after, last October, the Constitutional Court (TC) ordered the investigation against Fujimori Higuchi and other co-defendants to be archived for the alleged illegal contributions received during the 2011 and 2016 presidential campaigns.
Judge Wilson Verástegui must issue a ruling on whether or not it is appropriate to archive the Cocktails caseafter the Second National Criminal Court of Appeals rejected his prohibition from continuing to intervene in the process, following a journalistic report that linked him to the leader of Alliance for Progress (APP), Cesar Acuña.
However, in November of this year, the Judiciary issued a resolution in which it ordered that the judge continue with the process in all incidents linked to the Cocktails case.

In this context, Judge Verástegui Gálvez will evaluate said request presented by Keiko Fujimori’s lawyer.
Likewise, the request presented by the legal defense of the former Secretary General of Popular ForceJosé Chlimper, as well as Antonia Gutiérrez and Adriana Tarazona, so that the ruling of the Constitutional Court is extended to their cases and they are excluded from the criminal process of the Cócteles case.
The session is scheduled for Friday at 9 in the morning at the headquarters of the National Superior Court, in the Center of Lima. The procedural parties must attend the hearing in person in order to present their arguments before the judge.
