The leader of Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimori, affirmed that if there is no consensus in the Congress of the Republic to approve the vacancy of President Pedro Castillo, “it is time to discuss the advancement of elections.”
Through her TikTok account, the former presidential candidate indicated that she could spend hours talking about corruption scandals and government errors, but emphasized that “now is solution time”.
In this sense, Fujimori Higuchi indicated that the way out of the current political, social and economic crisis is the dismissal of Castillo Terronesbut if there is no consensus to achieve it, another option should be discussed, such as early elections.
“Many ask me when this situation is going to end, how we can get out of this crisis. We live in constant uncertainty. In the two requests for vacancies that were presented, I have to highlight that Fuerza Popular and its 24 congressmen voted in favor”he expressed.
“It has been shown that we cannot do it alone. I have said it and I repeat it: the solution lies in the vacancy, but it is not the only way out. If there is no consensus, it is time to discuss the early elections, in which I clearly indicate that I will not participate”he added.
In that sense, Keiko Fujimori reiterated that if this last option is approved, it will not participate in any possible general elections and will be a “activist” to achieve the necessary consensus and get out of the impasse in which the country finds itself.
“If the elections are brought forward, I will not be a candidate for the Presidency, but I will be an activist in search of consensus to get out of this impasse. In all scenarios, the way out is to inform ourselves, get involved and fight as citizens”sentenced.
