The leader of Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimoriassured that the Congress of the Republic must vacate President Pedro Castillo, and otherwise, everyone must leave, alluding to the advancement of general elections that he had already supported in a previous pronouncement.
“I don’t know what is going to happen, I don’t know what is going to happen in our country. The Congress of the Republic has a great responsibility and I will not tire of repeating: if President Castillo does not want to resign, then they have to vacate him; and if they are not going to vacate it, then everyone has to go!”Fujimori declared at an event of his party in Callao, according to a video broadcast on Saturday by the Epicentro TV portal.

Weeks ago, the former presidential candidate announced that the Constitutional Commission, chaired by Hernando Guerra García (Popular Force), will prioritize the bill for the advancement of elections.
“We hope that there is a space for consensus and a vacancy is achieved or elections are brought forward. I also know from Mr. Hernando Guerra García that he is going to give priority, now that he is chairing the Constitution Commission, so that the bill presented by a congresswoman from another political group can be debated so that this bill can be debated and hopefully there is consensus for new elections”, declared for the press.
Currently, a group of opposition legislators is preparing a third vacancy motion against Pedro Castillo, after the previous two did not gather the necessary votes to remove the head of state.
