Despite the defeat suffered by the current that it supported at the departmental level, the one headed by former Mayor Yurramendi, the Group born in Fraile Muerto had many things to celebrate: on the one hand, the re-election to continue at the head of the Municipality and on the other, having accessed, at the beginning of 2025, the seat for the National Party in the Chamber of Deputies.

The 2003 was one of the few groups that in the last days of December brought together its militants as a way to also thank them for the work and effort made during the long electoral process.

“We continue working on our path. We believed it was important to get together with people to listen. We held an important meeting in Melo and another important one in Fraile Muerto” confirmed Gaston Nauar.

“They are the main places where we have worked, that is why we consider it important to be there, listen, as well as explain why or why not about the things that people need to know” he pointed out. “Neither winning nor losing should you disappear, you should always try to be there and continue building what you dream of” broad.

“The strictly electoral thing goes the other way. Personally, the first thing we have to be grateful to the people who put us in the places we are occupying: Graciela (Echenique) in the Provincial Council and me in the Municipality” he remarked.

“The more people participate, the Group becomes stronger and continues in this growth process” said the Mayor of the Municipality of Fraile Muerto.

Away from the electoral noise, the leadership of the 2003 List aims to enhance the positioning that the Group has achieved throughout the department of Cerro Largo. “At this moment that is the objective, later, later, we will see what that torrent is for and what it is not for. That is the idea of ​​​​continuing working” said to THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.

“It is not an easy thing to keep a group alive away from political times. Beyond that, we believe that 2025 was the most complicated year. Because of everything that has happened, it has been a difficult year for everything, that is why we have to shuffle and give back” said Gastón Nauar.

“You know that you have done things well, we are calm, everything within our power has been done, but we must continue working” he insisted.

The taste at the end of the year was bittersweet because although the Representative for Cerro Largo is one of the founders of the group and the position of Mayor was again achieved by a wide margin, the current that relied on the department was defeated by Morel. “We personally did very well, but as a group it was not like that” he admitted. “The people chose a change. We are not going to block anything that is good for the department and what is good for our people” he added.
