Specifically, the legislator requests that this extraordinary session be held this Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
The congresswoman explained that there are 13 grounds against Quiñónez; being the main one, the poor performance of functions.
“This was a circuit that had its time for reflection so that each of the deputies can cast their votes in a serious and responsible manner in the face of a crisis situation,” he said.
For González, the current Attorney General, did not learn anything from her predecessor Javier Díaz Verón, who was even accused of significant corruption by the United States.
EXTORTION
Causes 12 and 13 are related to the extortion suffered by legislators recently after a series of posts on twitter by Élida Favole, director of Communication of the Public Ministry.
In the publications, he affirmed that a legislator is offering the “gold and the Moor” (sic) to promote the trial against Quiñónez. Well, a person close to you, in a process currently open, can be charged with 15 to 20 years in prison for drug trafficking. This defendant would be carrying the responsibility of keeping quiet who is the boss, reads one of the publications.
In another tweet, he affirms that “a very heavyweight of drug trafficking” obtained a list of voters in favor of a legislator, who would be one of the main promoters of the political trial, and who always mentions the word “narco-state” in her speeches.
After the publications, remarkably the intentions of impeachment lost strength. Taking into account that they should have been presented last Wednesday.
“The deputies have a sword of Damocles on us. These last issues were materialized as one of the causes of the trial. We cannot continue to tolerate a Prosecutor’s Office that is at the service of organized crime,” he said.
MORE DETAILS
Among the grounds for impeachment, Quiñónez’s poor performance of duties is cited for the following reasons; complaint filed by the former Minister of the Interior, Arnaldo Giuzzio; the budget execution of the Public Ministry (2018 to 2020); Rodrigo Quintana case; coercion of institutional bodies; partiality and arbitrariness of the organ; allegations of corruption in mayors and governorates; irregular management in personnel hiring; among others.
VOTES
The legislator finally affirmed that they have the votes for the political trial. She stated that if they did not have them, they would not have filed the accusatory libel.
It should be remembered that during the last Liberal Convention (PLRA), the groups led by Blas Llano and Dionisio Amarilla prevailed. Both groups are the closest to the current Attorney General. The votes of the PLRA are key to achieving the approval of the trial. If approved, it will go to the Chamber of Senators to deal with the impeachment.
“We are convinced that the votes are there or we would not have submitted the request. If from today other factors come into the negotiation and the peoples, Liberal and Colorado, do not understand that beyond a political issue, this must be a well-founded position, it is something else,” said the parliamentarian.
