The Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis, stressed this Tuesday that “the agreement with the IMF is not going to stop the political decision and the Government’s demand for Justice to investigate where the millions of dollars of debt are that are not even in roads, nor on routes, nor in universities or hospitals”.

The minister, in radio statements, spoke in this way about President Alberto Fernández’s speech at the 140th opening of ordinary sessions of the National Congress.

“The opposition was very responsible when it governed and they must assume a responsible position in the face of a problem that they themselves brought,” the official added.

Katopodis affirmed that “the President’s speech marks a turning point and a road map for these two years to come, which must be the ones that consolidate this recovery. Our government took care of the life and well-being of our people, and now it will do in terms of consumption, salary and work”.

In addition, he highlighted public works as “fundamental when thinking about a development horizon for Argentina.” “We have more than 3,700 works underway throughout the country, of which 120 are those that define a model and mark a change in the development matrix.”

“Public works in a Peronist government mark the way in which Argentina has to be developed and integrated,” said the official.

In addition, he expressed that “there is a decision by the President to double the investment in infrastructure”, and that “the agreement with the IMF will allow us to continue propping up the recovery so that there is more public work, not less”.

“Our government comes to reaffirm a clear course and our responsibility is to govern by solving the problems of Argentines every day,” concluded Katopodis.
