The Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodisassured that the Frente de Todos is going to have “a very competitive candidate” for this year’s presidential elections and considered that “the strategy is to consolidate” the pro-government coalition, ahead of the elections.
“What we have as a fundamental tool is the Government. We are going to have a very competitive candidate and I think that the Frente de Todos yields more than any candidate. Today the strategy is to consolidate the Frente de Todos, it will be an injection for what is to come “said the minister in statements he made this morning to AM990 radio.
In addition, he added that he sees as candidates both the president Alberto Fernandez like the vice president Cristina Kirchner and “to all those who feel that they will be able to represent the range of what the Frente de Todos expresses.”
For the minister, the President demonstrated “with facts and truths” government work on investments and public works during his speech at the opening of legislative sessions last Wednesday.
“The works are there and they can be seen, we are on the way to developing great works to change people’s lives. It was a great engine of the economy,” he said.
“It has to be a candidate that exceeds Peronism, it must be expanded to other sectors. Every day we have to see how to reach more people”Gabriel Katopodis
Katopodis said that the candidate of the Frente de Todos will be clear about “the challenges that Argentina has going forward” and thus be able to “continue betting on starting lithium, oil and gas.”
“It has to be a candidate that exceeds Peronism, it must be expanded to other sectors. Every day we have to see how to reach more people,” he said.
From his portfolio, he considered it important to “connect every day with the problems of the people” and to be able to guarantee “reaching every corner of the country with more public works.”
On the other hand, the minister agreed that Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner “is banned” and that “they persecute her for what she did well in Argentina.”
“When they persecute her they are persecuting Peronism. We are very close to this episode having a final correlate, which are the grounds of the sentence. These grounds will be signed by the judges but they are economic sectors for this to happen.”the official said.
Finally, Katopodis assured that the main objective of the government is to “guarantee that the wheel of distribution moves strongly” in order to ensure that “prices go down and that the economy does not suffer.
“The distribution has to realize that one as a citizen is better off,” he concluded.
