Katapulk warns about a case of brand impersonation to defraud customers

Katapulk warns about a case of brand impersonation to defraud customers

Through a press release, the online commerce platform Katapulk has warned “its buyers, the Cuban community and the general public” about a fraudulent website that impersonates the identity of its brand using “its name, image and messages in an unauthorized manner.”

The site falsely presents itself as Katapulk and imitates customer service through WhatsApp.

“Katapulk emphatically clarifies that that site (envioscuba23.catalogst.com) does not belong to the company, is not affiliated with it and does not have any type of authorization to operate on its behalf.

Trying to take advantage of the popularity of the Katapulk brand among buyers who place orders for Cuba, and that of other platforms such as Supermarket23, Scammers seek to deceive customers who want to make their purchases online.

A safe experience on the official website

To ensure a safe experience, Katapulk reminds all its users that the official website where the company offers its services and guarantees legitimate transactions, backed by robust security systems is: https://www.katapulk.com

Likewise, Katapulk reminds its users that its official customer service channel on WhatsApp is: +1 (555) 706-9075. This number is identified as a verified business and clearly displays the Katapulk name and brand.

Security is intact

The company states that this situation “is not related to any technical vulnerability of its platform,” and adds that “Katapulk’s systems have not been compromised and its payment gateways operate normally under the highest security standards.”

This incident, Katapulk clarifies, is limited exclusively to the improper and unauthorized use of the image and brand name by third parties. And he emphasizes that “the security of the Katapulk website remains intact.”

Recommendation

Katapulk addresses its clients to suggest that they be very attentive to warning signs, such as: requests for payment or personal information outside official channels, the use of web addresses other than katapulk.com or messaging accounts that are not clearly identified as Katapulk.

As preventive measures, the company recommends making purchases only through katapulk.com or through its official telephone sales system (+1 (855) 590-2816).

For inquiries or confirmations, users can contact Katapulk directly through its official channels, including the email [email protected].

The company remembers that No imposter uses email addresses that end in @katapulk.com.

Commitment

Katapulk is actively working to protect its community, strengthen the security of its digital channels and preserve the trust of its customers. The company thanks the users who have reported this situation and reaffirms its commitment to a safe, transparent and reliable purchasing experience for shipments to Cuba.
