The Congressional Ethics Commission, chaired by the legislator Karol Paredes (Popular Action), avoided investigating the case of the nine congressmen accused of drinking liquor in Parliament facilitiesalong with Freddy Díaz Mónago, who has already been sanctioned with disqualification for 10 years.
On September 8, 2022, Karol Paredes sent a letter to Freddy Diaz Monagorequesting the relationship of the nine parliamentarians indicated by his legal defense in the sense that they drank with him, at the headquarters of Congress, on July 26. Everything seemed to indicate that the acciopopulista would open an investigation. But it was not like that.
Freddy Díaz responded on September 12, limiting himself to declaring that the issue was subject to fiscal investigation.. Although he does not give names, in the document he refers to the photograph released by his colleague Magaly Ruiz and adds that in said image there are parliamentarians who appear in his technical defense.
