JxC shows internal tensions and potential fractures in Mendoza, Córdoba and Neuquén

National deputy for PRO Omar De Marchi.

Together for Change (JxC) exhibits increasing internal tensions and potential fractures ahead of this year’s elections in Córdoba, Mendoza, Neuquén and Río Negro, in an assembly that is closely watched by the national leadership of the opposition coalition, especially for the presidential candidates of the space Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Patricia Bullrich.

In cordobathe dispute in JvC has as protagonists the national senator Luis Judge (Civic Front) and to national deputy Rodrigo de Loredo (UCR), both aspirants to embody the candidacy for governor of the coalition, which, at Bullrich’s proposal in one of his last visits to the province, could be defined after a “poll” or, in the last case, in an “open internal”.

Meanwhile, in the district considered a Macrista stronghold, the force We do for Córdoba (HxC)that hethinks the governor Juan Schiaretti, The electoral campaign has already begun with tours of the provincial interior of its candidate, the mayor of the capital Martín Llaryora, even though the date of the elections has not yet been officially established.

meanwhile, in Mendoza Differences between macrismo and radicalism also became visible again, as occurred in recent electoral periods. But to this situation was added that the radical senator Alfredo Cornejo -supported by Governor Rodolfo Suárez- formalized his candidacy for governorfacing the elections of September 24 next (after the PASO of June 11).

“In the PRO we are very focused on developing a government plan, not on speculation about the thread, the fronts, or the non-fronts. We are looking for a way to develop Mendoza”Omar De Marchi

“I saw a very forced and inopportune launch, apart from being contradictory with respect to what is being said,” he said about what was resolved by Cornejo on the daynational deputy and head of the Mendoza PRO, Omar De Marchi, and anticipated that just the April 12 will define his electoral future and the possibility of leaving the Cambia Mendoza front.

De Marchi showed his annoyance with Cornejo’s decision to resolve in the PASO who will be the candidate of the force that governs the province and ignored the order of the UCR to resolve today if it remained within the ranks of the ruling coalition (term that also applies to the rest of the parties who want to join the front).

Alfredo Cornejo launched himself as a candidate for governor.

yesterday, in a PRO summit, Rodríguez Larreta and Bullrich They discussed in harsh terms about the electoral setup in Mendoza, where De Marchi plays as an ally of the mayor of Buenos Aires.

“We have heard the governor say many times: we are not talking about politics; we are with the management. And suddenly they go, set up a press conference and announce a candidate. When there are two months left for the construction of fronts and four for the election It was very little spontaneous. Really, forced,” criticized the PRO leader about the agreement between Governor Suárez and Senator Cornejo.

“I do not agree with having anticipated the political discussion so much when there are still serious issues that are pending”Omar De Marchi

De Marchi was categorical and remarked: “They have anticipated the political discussion, which only serves politicians and not the people.”

He differentiated that, on the other hand, the PRO is “very focused on developing a government plan, not on the speculation of the thread, of the fronts, or of the non-fronts.”

Cordova

Cordova, Meanwhile, he has already received visits from the main JxC figures in recent times: Rodrguez Larreta, Bullrich and the former governor from Buenos Aires and current deputy from Buenos Aires, Mary Eugenia Lifel, they showed, with their visits, the interest that the Mediterranean province represents for the national leadership, but they avoided pronouncing in favor of any of their pre-candidates (Juez and De Loredo).

Judge HE resists competing internally for the candidacy because he understands that “Peronism is going to play” and will favor De Loredo, the radical who responds to the Evolution space led by Martín Lousteau from Buenos Aires.

Until now It is unknown if Mauricio Macri will set foot on Cordoba lands, towards whom some discomfort persists in the local version of JxC after the former president held a meeting last November with Llaryora, mayor of the provincial capital and candidate of the ‘schiarettista’ Peronism.

In a low voice, inside the coalition, it is said that this meeting would have been the trigger for some referents and mayors of JxC to line up behind Llaryora.

In this framework, the Cordovan forces that make up JxC (the PRO, the UCR and the Civic Coalition) emphatically asked Schiaretti to define the election call date which, according to local electoral legislation, should take place between June 10 and September 10.

Neuquen

To this provincial panorama is also added the disjointed electoral plan of JxC in Neuquén, originated after Macri expressed himself in favor of a former leader of the Neuquino Popular Movement (MPN), former vice-governor Rolando Figueroa.

For this reason, on the one hand, JxC presented before the electoral justice a list headed by the Pablo Cervi-Jorge Taylo formular to compete in the elections of April 16 and, on the other, pro scored a collection list with Figueroa and the provincial deputy Leticia Esteves.

Figueroa, in turn, leads his own party (Community and Citizen Development) and it has a total of 9 lists of deputies, made up of supporters of the MPN and that could even complicate the chances of a party that has governed Neuquén for 60 years, currently in the hands of Omar Gutiérrez.

Black river

In Río Negro, the JxC coalition is fractured after the UCR will announce an electoral agreement with the provincial ruling party, Together we are Rio Negro (JSRN), led by Senator Alberto Weretilneck.

In early January, the pro-government JSRN and the “Nos Une Río Negro” front, headed by Senator Martín Doñate, sealed an electoral agreement for the provincial elections on April 16, in which Weretilneck will once again compete for the governorship.

According to reports, local radical leaders expressed their discontent because “decision-making (in space) remains in the hands of a few and the UCR attends as a privileged spectator.”

For this reason, the radicals decided to close an agreement with JSRN, which has a high chance of continuing in the governorship.

On the other hand, in a formula that bears the stamp of JxC and that has the support of the PROthey will compete Anibal Tortoriello and Juan Pablo Alvarez Guerrero.
