The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, called for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the national Constitution next Sunday, December 15, and requested that Justices of the Peace be elected on that same date in at least a thousand Communal Circuits.
He reflected that justice based on peace “is a system of coexistence, which works to prevent conflicts in the community, to heal wounds so that they do not escalate into inter-family or inter-community conflicts.”
“Justice of peace has to be one of the great objectives in Venezuela to build a model State in terms of democracy,” he added during a broadcast of the podcast “Maduro Live de Repente”.
After signing the new legal instrument and ordering its immediate publication, the head of state congratulated and greeted the deputies of the national parliament and the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, especially its president Caryslia Rodríguez, for their ideas, contributions and commitment. with the reform of the Communal Peace Justice Law.
Election of Justices of the Peace
For its part, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted the process of consultation with the Popular Power to develop the norm, and highlighted that its approval is adapted “to the election of Justices of the Peace by direct, secret vote, in the territorial area corresponding to the Commune or the Communal Councils. ”.
He explained that the law establishes the powers of the Justices of the Peace, who can be up to three members of the community with their substitutes and who have a collegiate function.
Likewise, the Minister for the Commune, Ángel Prado, stated that “there are conditions and maturity” in the communities organized to administer justice.
“In the communities we love each other, we respect each other, we know each other, and many problems that arise due to the dynamics of the community can be resolved right there, but there was a legal framework that recognizes that spokesperson to whom people pay attention and have a lot of respect he has earned within the community.
“It is not necessary to transfer a community problem to a higher level of the entities that administer justice, in the same community we can create the culture of ourselves to solve a good part of the community and coexistence problems,” he assured.
