The Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, reported that the judges of the peace who were elected on Sunday must be held accountable in a communal assembly every six months.
During the program Al Aire, broadcast by Venezuelan Televisionthe minister presented an assessment of the election day, stating that it “exceeded expectations,” and that this Monday the proclamation of the justices of the peace is scheduled, as well as the meeting of a commission that will work on the process for the project consultation on January 26.
Furthermore, he specified that those who They were elected by the people They are people with leadership who will help the community in resolving conflicts, will be useful to the Peace Committees and will serve as support to the powers of the State.
Prado added that every six months an assembly will be convened with the participation of community members and the entire population in which accountability will be held, with the assembly being the one that will determine if justice has been done.
He also explained that the Peace Committee is part of the structure of the commune and that each communal council will have a spokesperson binding on it, with the possibility of requesting a review if the justice of the peace does not fulfill his role.
Training process
Prado commented that progress will soon be made in the training process to strengthen knowledge of the law and the connection of the justice structure in the country. He also noted that there will be cases that cannot be resolved in the community and must go to another instance.
