According to his lawyer Rafael García at the end of the detention control hearing held this Thursday, it was a 9-millimeter weapon that had been reported stolen approximately two years ago. They also found eight pieces of ammunition.
Schiappacasse was arrested along with three other people at Route 9, 13 kilometers from Maldonado, when they were on their way to the classic that was played at the Maldonado Campus. After today’s hearing, only the athlete remains in custody. According to Garcia, the player is in “good physical condition” but “very distressed” and “embarrassed” by this situation.
