Justice raises almost R$ 13 million with auctions in July alone

More than R$ 12.8 million were raised in the month of July this year alone, with the 32 auctions carried out by the National Secretariat for Policies on Drugs and Asset Management (Senad), of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. “The amount collected from the decapitalization of criminals goes back to society through investments in public security and anti-drug policies and training of professionals and projects at the national level. And also with the allocation of equipment to the bodies that are part of the Single Public Security System, such as military and civil police and military fire corps,” the ministry said.

Among the five properties auctioned in July is a farm of more than 970 hectares in Barra do Garças, Mato Grosso.

The land was valued at more than R$5 million and the initial bid was set at R$2,575,000.00. The property was sold for more than R$ 6 million.

The auction of 184 vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and scrap metal, raised R$3 million. The highlight was a model 210M aircraft (Centurion II), manufactured in 1978. The single engine, valued at R$ 570 thousand, was sold for R$ 1,221,000. In this case, the initial bid was R$ 285 thousand, according to Senad.

Another item sold was a Jeep G Cherokee utility model valued at R$47,900, which went for R$50,000. The minimum bid was BRL 23,900.

Lesser value items such as cell phones, jewelry, helmets and pallets of wood and even a hydraulic press, a Valmet tractor were also purchased and accounted for the collection of more than R$ 56 thousand.

Collection in the year

Until July this year, the Ministry of Justice raised more than R$ 63 million in 197 auctions.

From January to July, more than 3,500 assets were sold. “Those interested in acquiring the assets that are still available for bidding should access the page from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, which will direct them to the websites of auctioneers who are partners of the National Secretariat for Drug Policies”, oriented the Ministry of Justice.
