Justice orders house arrest for police officers accused of stealing mercury

On Monday, a preliminary investigation judge in La Paz ordered house arrest for the four police officers who were accused of stealing liquid mercury used for mining exploitation valued at 200 thousand dollars.

Peñaranda reported that the event was recorded on August 15, 2024, when the owner of the mercury Fabricio JAB He was contacted by a woman at his home to supposedly make the purchase of liquid mercury that was offered legally and with sales licenses.

In these circumstances the woman called her supposed boss and told the victim that Go pick it up at a local supermarket south of La Paz to make the purchase, but four police officers from the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) were waiting for them in a vehicle.
