Justice decrees preventive detention against a Venezuelan citizen charged with fatal attack on a Carabineros official

The Concepción Guarantee Court ordered preventive detention against Jhoyner Bonilla Brito, a citizen of Venezuelan nationality and the main defendant in the outrage resulting in the death of the first corporal of the Carabineros, Alex Salazar.

The magistrate, Claudia Castillo, accepted all the precedents delivered by the Public Ministry to determine the preventive detention of the accused.

Likewise, it determined a period of 120 days to investigate the event, which took place last Sunday, March 12, in the framework of a police procedure in the Concepción commune and which ended with the death of the police officer.

It was at that moment when the driver, a Venezuelan national, ran over – under the influence of alcohol – the first corporal. After the situation, the police officer was seriously transferred to the Regional Hospital, dying during the day on Tuesday.
