Juniors companies represent 23% of investment in mining exploration in Peru

This delay discourages the participation of smaller companies, which generally have lower financial resources and operate under more tight margins.

“It is not enough to have a favored geology, we must also have policies and regulations that allow exploration projects, which are of high technical risk and low environmental impact, can advance agilely,” he said.

In search of efficiency without sacrificing environmental standards
The head of Proexplo 2025 clarified that the solution does not go through the environmental standards, which described as “world class”, but to optimize administrative efficiency and grant greater predictability in response times. “What we propose is the simplification of processes and better management of response times,” he said.

Tejada stressed that greater efficiency in procedures will encourage investment, making the Peruvian square more attractive in a competitive context. This improvement, he added, must be oriented to facilitate the participation of the juniors, which are crucial to diversify the project portfolio and keep active the flow of new initiatives in the mining sector.
