Junín: Subject sentenced to 35 years in prison for sexual abuse

A man was sentenced to 35 years in prison for attacking the sexual integrity of a minor under 14 years of age in the district of Chacapalpa, province of Yauli, Junín region.

The conviction was obtained by the Yauli Provincial Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Office during the oral trial, after it was demonstrated that the convicted person took advantage of the trust he had with the victim to commit the acts between the years 2020 and 2024. The provincial prosecutor Paul Manuel Canchari León supported the evidence before the Collegiate Criminal Court subspecialized in crimes against women and members of the family group of Huancayo.

According to the prosecutor’s investigation, the convicted person made improper approaches and subsequently continued the harassment through messages, until the facts were confirmed repeatedly, taking advantage of the absence of third parties. After learning what happened, the minor’s mother reported the case, allowing the investigations to begin.

In addition to the custodial sentence, the Judiciary ordered the payment of civil compensation in favor of the victim and the internment of the convicted person in a penitentiary establishment designated by the INPE.
