On the eve of the 66th anniversary of the National University of Central Peru (UNCP), the interim rector César Ortiz stated that his management focuses on ensuring the continuity of academic and administrative activities until his position is handed over to the new authorities.
“We are doing teamwork that allows us to know a little more about the depth of the reality of our university”he pointed out. Among the most immediate measures, the rector indicated that the teacher appointment process has been suspended to guarantee transparency. “The University Council has suspended this activity so that there is greater transparency, because some defects have arisen in this process”accurate. In addition, he reaffirmed the importance of maintaining academic and administrative planning, as well as the preparation of research projects for next year.
On the other hand, the construction of the Civil Engineering and Architecture pavilion continues to be paralyzed. “We are in the middle of the analysis process with the contractor and our institution to see what state the project is in; our goal is to restart it as soon as possible so that in April the young people are studying in their new classrooms”he assured.
“Between 2021 and 2025, UNCP has published 523 scientific articles indexed in Scopus, an increase of 71.7% compared to the previous five years,” The authority stated, highlighting that UNCP entered the SCImago 2025 Ranking for the first time, ranking among the top five public universities in the country. In addition, the university develops more than 200 research, innovation and entrepreneurship projects, with research professors registered with Renacyt.
