Junín receives 33 thousand pediatric doses to intensify vaccination

This week, the Junín region received another batch of 33,000 pediatric doses and had 9,100 doses in stock (from the previous week), so the (Diresa) Junín carried out the redistribution of vaccines to health networks, which will have as a priority until February 25, the application of second doses to children between 5 and 11 years of age.

In this regard, the director of the Mantaro Valley Health Network, Enrique Porras Orellana, stated that he received a third batch of 20,940 pediatric doses. “We have already received the third consignment. In the first and second consignments we received a total of 42,460 doses that were already 100% used, and now we receive 20,940 doses that have already been distributed to the vaccination points in the provinces of Huancayo and Concepción”, he remarked.

Measures to promote vaccination

Meanwhile, the advance of vaccination of minors from 05 to 17 years, is between 25.58% to 85.30% with the first dose. Therefore, the official announced that he implemented a series of strategies to strengthen the vaccination of minors so that parents can take their conceited to the vaccination points. “We have sent letters to the local governments that have educational centers in their jurisdiction so that they disseminate and sensitize the presidents of APAFA and thus motivate the vaccination of minors, taking into account that the Regional Directorate of Education (DRE) Junín will carry out the gradual return of students to face-to-face classes,” he asserted. He added that they are also coordinating with the Vaso de Leche, Together, Cuna Más, Qali Warma, Neighborhood Boards programs to promote the vaccination of minors.

“Doses have already been sent to Andamarca, Comas, Santo Domingo de Acobamba, Pariahuanca, among others,” he specified.

Likewise, the Jauja Health Network received a batch of 4,400 pediatric doses for the application of first and second doses to children between 5 and 11 years of age in Jauja and Yauli-La Oroya, reported the Director of the Jauja Health Network, Lourdes Ayala Diaz.

In addition, to bring vaccination care closer to the population, immunization activities in Jauja will be decentralized for these days: in the districts of Jauja, Yauyos, Sausa, Acolla, Muquiyauyo and El Mantaro.

Likewise, for Monday, February 21, two vaccination points for all ages will be installed, one in the Main Square of Jauja and another in the Domingo Olavegoya hospital.

Starting next week, the vaccination of children will also be intensified in the other districts of the province of Jauja, in order to guarantee a safe return to class and avoid serious complications from COVID-19.

Finally, other networks that received doses are: Tarma (5,100), Chanchamayo (2,410), Satipo (2,000), Pangoa (700), Junín (700), Pichanaqui (910), among others.
