Junín: Femicide comes out of hiding to look for water and is captured after intense persecution

Yesterday afternoon, a team led by PNP Major Rojas Edilberto Peña, PNP Captain Gamboa León José Orlando, three troops, Sangani serenazgo and 25 community members, arrived at the Unión San Pedro annex of the Rio Amarillo basin in Chanchamayo, Junin region. After traveling an hour by truck from Pichanaqui, passing a road in terrible condition and several hectares of pineapple crops, they climbed 200 meters to the summit, where – they had been informed – was hiding a femicide who last Friday he beat his wife and mother of his children to death.

Francisco Areche Flores was camouflaged under leaves, he had come out of his hiding place to drink water, since he had not tried any food since Saturday. Noticing the police presence, he tried to go unnoticed by camouflaging himself among the vegetation, but he was seen by the agents.

Francisco got up and ran, but, after several dissuasive shots and a chase through the undergrowth, they managed to grab what they have baptized as the “monster of San Pedro”. The population asks that they give him the punishment he deserves.

They arrived 10 years ago from Huancavelica, Francisco and Petronila, they had three children, two boys and a girl, who, like their mother, lived under terror. “The man already had a complaint, that time he stabbed his wife in the genitals, the police captured him, but the prosecutor did not request preventive detention and they released him. They released him so he could kill her,” says one of the community members.

Indeed, on the night of Friday, April 29, Francisco Areche Flores ended the life of his wife Petronila, who, tired of the abuse, had asked for guarantees for her and her children, however, this infuriated the subject more and since the guarantees remain in paper came to the house, abused the woman and beat her up. “She was already bleeding to death, she had again stabbed her private parts,” say the community members who found her dying.

That day, they improvised a stretcher and took her to the health center where they only confirmed her death. Also, they captured Francisco and put him in a communal dungeon until the police arrived, but in the middle of the night someone would have helped him and he escaped, until yesterday when he was captured.
