Gustavo Walter Asto Gonzales was admitted to the La Merced prison, after the Judiciary ordered nine months of preventive detention against him for the alleged crimes of manslaughter and negligent injuries, after a violent traffic accident that occurred in Pichanaqui.

The measure was requested by the First Office of the Mixed Corporate Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Pichanaqui, headed by prosecutor Patricia Ángela Toribio Rivera, who supported the request with the alcohol dosage, police reports and statements from the victims.
The accident occurred on December 18, when the accused was driving his truck with 0.57 grams of alcohol per liter of blood down the Mariátegui slope, hitting six motorcycle cars and two trucks, until reaching the vicinity of the Pichanaqui park, where he was arrested in flagrante delicto.

The incident left two people dead, identified as Máximo Huamán Navarro and Getrudis Quichca Baltazar, in addition to 12 injured, who suffered injuries of varying degrees. The investigation continues while the accused faces the process in prison.
