The Chief of Security, Health at the Labor and Environment of Electrocentro, Manuel Igreda, said that most constructions have breached this provision established by the National Electricity Code, to maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters with 50 centimeters, in networks medium voltage with buildings.
“Unfortunately they build a home and the edge of the property they take out an 80 to 70 cm cantilever, reducing the minimum safety distances. This causes accidents, when the masons upload their iron or begin to tarraje, paint the walls, climb the doors or windows and make contact with the electrical cables ”, He stressed.
It should be noted that in 2024 in the entire field of concession of Electrocenter there were 18 accidents that had the masons as protagonists with a fatal outcome in four of these. “We want to decrease accidents under constructions. We have been supervising, giving talks and delivering brochures to mason friends with the aim of preventing accidents ”, concluded.
