Around 120 civil construction workers from the Juan Santos Atahualpa Intercultural University work held a protest in front of the Junín Regional Government (GRJ), due to delays in their payments. A group of representatives entered the regional headquarters to participate in a dialogue table with authorities and the technical team in charge of the project.

During the meeting, the GRJ reaffirmed its commitment to the continuity of construction and explained the administrative and technical progress of the work, which currently has an investment of more than S/ 200 million. The table made it possible to establish agreements aimed at guaranteeing viability and transparency in execution.

The future university is considered a key project for the Central Selva, as it is projected as a space for inclusive higher education for young people from indigenous communities and rural areas. According to the GRJ, this infrastructure will mark an educational milestone and will contribute to the social and cultural development of the territory.
