July was the second most violent month of the year, registering 2,331 intentional homicides throughout the country, according to the report of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).
This figure is 2 percent higher than that reported during June, when there were 2,289 victims of this crime, according to the figures sent daily by state and federal prosecutors and security secretaries to the SESNSP.
By entities, Guanajuato continues to be the most violent in the country, registering 295 murders last month, followed by Mexico City, with 64 cases.
During the past weekend, Guanajuato was also placed as the entity with the most intentional homicides, with a total of 28 cases, followed by Chihuahua, with 27; Baja California, with 19; Nuevo León, with 17, and Oaxaca, with 16 victims of this crime.
So far in 2022, May has been the most violent month, as 2,472 intentional homicides were reported throughout the country.
