Scherer’s departure

In September 2021, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed the departure of Julio Scherer from the Legal Department of the Presidency of the Republic, whom he recognized for his work in the transformation process and for developing constitutional reform initiatives.

“The lawyer Julio Scherer, legal adviser to the Federal Executive, has decided to leave the position and the assignment because he is going to return to his activities as a lawyer,” said López Obrador.

“Julio is like my brother, he has helped us a lot, he is part of this transformation process. During the time he served as a counselor, he was in charge of preparing the initiatives to reform the Constitution to adjust the legal framework to our project of transformation of the country,” he added.
