In the context of the growing toxicity that has flooded social networks, an alleged divinatory faculty of political intentions and meanings is usually practiced from photographed or video-recorded moments, to which the interpretation that suits or likes such exegetes of the moment is given, and it is worth highlighting that some of these try to varnish themselves with academic and scientific tones and enable a kind of “political” horoscopes, calling themselves “image specialists” or using similar labels.
The most recent episode of this nature occurred when the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, stopped greeting the head of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, at a public event. This fact was eagerly converted on social networks into proof that the Claudian government “is falling apart,” that the internal conflicts are now “unconcealable” and that a replacement in Bucareli is imminent.
Just yesterday, Secretary García Harfuch pointed out that Rosa Icela Rodríguez has only had “a lot of support” since they worked in the capital government headed by Claudia Sheinbaum and until now at the federal level. He said he was very grateful to her. But, beyond these words, he pointed out something forceful: “That day, I believe, we had already greeted each other about 10 times (…) The security office starts at 6 in the morning, we always arrive at 5:30, and by that time (the one in the short video that generated interpretations: splintered note) we had already greeted each other several times.”
On the other hand, it is likely that the member of the Sheinbaum administration who is achieving the best bonuses in the opposition is Omar García Harfuch, the top federal police chief, highly and temporarily appreciated by part of the United States elite (as happened at the time with Genaro García Luna), and early mentioned as a virtual presidential candidate for 2030.
It remains to be seen if this opposition flirtation with the most right-wing option on the Claudian spectrum (or less progressive, if you prefer to use another lens; or with less express ideological definition, if you prefer a more benevolent approach) remains the same as the investigation process into the murder of Carlos Manzo, who was municipal president of Uruapan, Michoacán, progresses.
The arrests and indications so far made by the federal security secretary point towards a treacherous environment and a suggestive infiltration related to organized crime groups. The person who served as Manzo’s private secretary and later as his successor widow was arrested and later released; and yesterday other arrests were reported, including that of a former public relations director of the aforementioned municipality.
With the judicial advances reported so far, the once vigorous national opposition campaign that attempted to pin the aforementioned crime on a Q4 conspiracy of the highest level is being eroded. Extremely excited, various opponents (Ricardo Salinas Pliego among them) ran to put on a hat to show themselves in solidarity with a movement that, once again! They assumed that it would mean the end of the Morenoist regime. And, now, García Harfuch…
And, while Donald Trump continues to consider from his Caligulesque seat the following options for aggression, whether in Iran, Cuba, Colombia (although a telephone call would seem to have installed a pause) or Mexico, a country that would try to avoid a direct blow to its homeland through better offerings in terms of organized crime and great “cooperation” with the American agencies and armed forces, until tomorrow, with the Secretary of National Defense ensuring that “there have been no aircraft overflights!” foreigners in national territory”!
