he verdict of a jury in New York constitutes, first of all, a political and historical sentence against Felipe Calderón and his political group. Revealing and condemning in the United States a minimal part of what Calderón argues in Mexico that he never knew implies an outright disqualification of that same federal administration (fraudulent in origin), as well as complicity that in light of what was resolved in Brooklyn, plus the Mexican production, open legal paths that will have to be seen if they are taken and prosecuted here.

But the garcialunista virus was incubated from the foximartist administration (the presidential couple formed by Vicente Fox Quesada, politically and intellectually vacuous, managed in many aspects by who was originally his spokesperson and later his wife, Marta Sahagún) and fully developed by felipezavalismo (not only the incumbent, Felipe; also Margarita Zavala Gómez del Campo, who has formed an essential part of that faction as a beneficiary, political partner and failed candidate for a family return to Los Pinos).

What was decided by 12 American citizens regarding Genaro García Luna (GGL) confirms that the felipist launch of the war on drugs (a concept from which he later wanted to distance himself) was a grand criminal deception, which turned the Mexican institutional apparatus into a savage instrument at the service mainly of the Sinaloa cartel.

Calderón unleashed a warwhose consequences are still being suffered, to try to overcome the stigma of electoral fraud through which he took over the Presidency of Mexico, but also to turn the police and military into operational arms for the sale of protection to the favorite cartel and to others minor amount.

García Luna remained in his position during the entire six-year term of Felipe, without a single hint of doubt or criticism from Los Pinos, in an absolutely solid operational pairing, fully identified in objectives. But, only García Luna? Without accomplices in the Calderonist structure in general or at the mere tip of the pyramid of presidential power exercised furiously and relentlessly by those who now take refuge in Madrid?

There was only one Secretary of Public Security (GGL), while in the Ministry of the Interior Felipismo had four occupants, two of whom died in strange plane crashes: Juan Camilo Mouriño Terrazo, from Campechano-Madrid, Calderón’s true darling, and the Baja Californian José Francisco Blake Mora, who died when the helicopter he was traveling in fell in Chalco, Mexico state (the other two governors were Francisco Javier Ramírez Acuña and Fernando Gómez-Mont Urueta).

In the Attorney General’s Office there were three incumbents: Eduardo Medina Mora, Arturo Chávez Chávez and Marisela Morales Ibáñez. And, like GGL in its six-year duration, the heads of National Defense, Guillermo Galván Galván, and of the Navy, Mariano Francisco Saynez Mendoza. As Calderón alleges to himself, didn’t these high officials know anything either?

The defeat of the Calderón and Zavala group is also the defeat of the PAN movement and the right-wing defender of the firm hand exercised from 2006 to 2012. And it drags the current allies of that panismo, the PRI that with Peña Nieto had tolerance and gave budgetary aid to garciafelipismo and, well, what to say about the perredismo in liquidation. And, of course, it has a hard impact on the Va por México business project and, immediately, on the protesters next Sunday who, beyond the defense of the INE and the democracy, they will have the García Luna case as an elephant in the room, which has become an unwanted symbol of the regressive mood that the same elites who are complicit in what they are now trying to avoid: García Luna is not touched! It could be their flag of struggle! . See you tomorrow!
