n search (again) of accommodation in the federal government, after having lost in his attempt to be a morenista candidate to govern Durango and that the guinda party itself, which he supported, was defeated in the recent state election, Manuel Espino Barrientos has appeared in the Senate to reveal that he is promoting dialogues and agreements with organized crime cartels and the construction administration.

He did so in the context of a forum called Security and justice for a better Mexico. He claimed to have talked about the topic with the President of the Republic last April. According to what he said, he made critical remarks about the policy followed by his host on that date. “Today we are worse than at the beginning in terms of security – he would have specified López Obrador – I offered to take him a proposal and told him that it was going to be very daring.”

It does not mention that AMLO had known the daring proposal, but the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández: “I told the Secretary of the Interior that the proposal I put in his hands was to find a way to make it reach one of the organized crime groups in Mexico. And I managed to get it. And I only received a response from two: ‘if this is done in Mexico, we will enter it’. We are in that task, I do not want to abound more because later they can accuse me of being indiscreet”. The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, would not have given him more room for action: she would have whippedaccording to Espino’s version.

It is not the first time that characters with skills in the police or military world intend to enter into agreements with criminal cartels in Mexico. General Mario Acosta Chaparro, now deceased, with a long history as executor of war dirty against opponents and dissidents, was considered the deal maker of Felipe Calderón Hinojosa when he occupied Los Pinos.

In a letter sent to the journalist Anabel Hernández, capo Édgar Valdez Villarreal, alias barbie, pointed out that they persecuted him because he he refused to be part of the agreement that Mr. Calderón Hinojosa wanted to have with all the organized crime groups, for which he personally held several meetings to have talks with organized crime groups. Subsequently, various meetings were held through General Mario Arturo Acosta Chaparro, who met on the orders of the president and Juan Camilo Mouriño (this one, Secretary of the Interior at that time) with heads of various criminal groups (https://bit.ly/3FwKsPw).

Espino Barrientos was at the National Palace this Wednesday, between versions that he will rejoin the federal government (he was already responsible for the Federal Protection Service), and when asked if he had met with President López Obrador, he replied: yes i greeted him (https://bit.ly/3DBLXe7).

The alleged negotiator with cartels was national president of the National Action Party, with a record of having participated with Vicente Fox when he was president of the Republic, and of having raised his hand as electoral winners to Felipe Calderón, Enrique Peña and Andrés Manuel López Obrador

On another topic: public notaries have expressed disagreement with the candidacy of Guadalupe Díaz Carranza, Oaxacan notary, to preside over the National College of Mexican Notaries. They point out that she falsified documents (which later corrected) to appear to meet eligibility requirements (age, among others) in Oaxaca, where the applicant has been criticized, pointing out that a dispossession cartel.

The notaries who challenge such candidacy point out that the prestige of the notary could be harmed if illegalities and falsification of documents are found in the aforementioned case. Until next monday!
