The deputy to the National Assembly (AN) Julio Chávez, referred on Tuesday to the economic issue of Venezuela and the region.
“There are no possibilities of advancing in the economic growth of a region, unless the peace of the territory is consolidated,” said Chávez in statements given in an interview with Venezolana de Televisión, regarding the talks between the Government of Colombia and the Army of National Liberation (ELN), which concluded in a first phase in Caracas.
He asserted that the government of Colombian President Gustavo Petro has credibility and a real commitment to peace.
Chávez also highlighted that this first phase of dialogue carried out in Venezuelan territory ratifies the commitment of President Nicolás Maduro to resume the diplomatic path and rebuild what was affected by previous governments.

Regarding the achievements made in the first cycle of peace dialogue between the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army (ELN), the deputy considered that the agreements established between the parties demonstrate the good will to establish the protocols that achieve definitive peace in Colombia and Latin America.
“We are very close, and on the right path, to achieving peace in Colombia, the region and Latin America.”
In this sense, the parliamentarian He considered that this first phase of talks ratifies the commitment of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to “return to the diplomatic path and ultimately rebuild the social fabric affected by previous governments, whose agenda was to torpedo all these peace processes.” .
For this reason, he congratulated the Venezuelan head of state for his initiative and perseverance, to advance the process of talks between the parties.
Julio Chávez highlighted the importance of Colombia achieving total peace, because “there is no way to advance economic prosperity in the region if this fact is not consolidated.”
“It is essential that we take these first steps, to then move forward in the integration and union process that must be recomposed, in all areas, on the basis of peace, which will allow this to occur viably and expeditiously in growth economy of the continent”, he emphasized.
