Juliana Oxenford on the murder of 'Trvko': "Due to the distance (...) the figure of legitimate defense does not exist"

In one new broadcast of the program ‘Arde Troya’the journalist Juliana Oxenford referred to the death of the young Eduardo Ruíz Sanz, musician known as ‘Trvko’and that he was murdered by non-commissioned officer Luis Magallanes. The police officer’s defense is that he would have acted in legitimate defense, however, thanks to the videos that recorded the event, this option would be ruled out, according to the driver.

“Due to the distance that existed between the musician and the police officer, it is understood that there is no, there is no such thing as legitimate defense. Magallanes cannot go out and say ‘no, what happened is that the whole mob came to me and there was this boy who wanted to expose me to a dangerous situation and I had no alternative but to take out my firearm and have to defend myself’. That did not happen,” said Oxeford.

I add that all this can be understood thanks to the images obtained by the security cameras of the Municipality of Lima and the videos recorded by the people present at the scene. “They killed ‘trvko’,” he added.

Likewise, he added that although the ballistics report indicates that the bullet had ricocheted off the floor and then hit the young Eduardo Ruíz, it is still considered homicide, so, for Juliana, it seems the last straw that Commander General Óscar Arriola thinks about making a bust of non-commissioned officer Luis Magallanes.

The journalist also questioned that Arriola still continues to lead the PNP, since in the face of tragic events such as the death of a citizen at the hands of a police officer, the ideal is that the general commander be changed.

“What is Arriola still doing as top chief of the Police? Why don’t they remove him? In a situation of this nature, a change immediately occurs, for him and the Minister of the Interior, but nothing happens here, as happened when Dina Boluarte governed,” said the communicator, indicating that it would be because it is the same Government with a different puppet.
