Julian Palacin He is no longer the boss of the Board of Directors of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) after the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), in charge of Alberto Otárola, appointed Karin Cáceres Durango as the new president of the organization.

Through a supreme resolution, published this Sunday in the Legal Regulations Bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano, the designation of Cáceres as a member of the aforementioned Board of Directors on behalf of the PCM and, at the same time, as its owner.
Accordingly, he is replaced in office by Julian Palacin Gutierrezwho was appointed as president of Indecopi on September 14, 2021, during the government of the coup leader Pedro Castillo.
The resolution bears the signature of President Dina Boluarte and Premier Alberto Otárola.
Likewise, in the recitals of the device it is indicated that, according to the Human Resources Office of the PCM, Julian Palacin Gutierrez “did not meet the minimum requirements” established to exercise said position, in accordance with Law No. 31419.
Experience in public office
Unlike Palacín, Karin Cáceres is a lawyer, a specialist in public management, with more than 25 years of experience as a servant in Central Government and Regional Government institutions.
In addition, she held senior management positions as general secretary, director of the Human Resources Administrative System, Auditor, administrator of Decentralized Headquarters, Senior Management advisor, among others.
