Santo Domingo.-The Power of attorney Dominican launched a program that seeks to improve the way of operating and reduce the judicial delay in the courts of the province of Santo Domingo, with the aim of bringing the judicial processes up to date in this demarcation.
The information was offered during a regional meeting with 88 judges from the Judicial Department of Santo Domingo, headed by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and the Council of the Judiciary, Judge Luis Henry Molina Peña, who during his speech presented the strategy of “Up-to-date Justice to guarantee the dignity of people” and the challenges that the Judicial Department presents in view of this vision. from Santo Domingo.
The program will begin in the criminal jurisdiction, as this is the one with the greatest congestion, and will cover all matters and instances within said Department. In addition, it contemplates the design of the prototype of the management model that will later be applied throughout the country, prioritizing the courts of the Instruction and the phase of execution of the sentence.

Likewise, it is intended to offer a timely response to users, that the courts are connected and have access to the Internet, the application and use of digital tools and optimize the human team according to the needs of the system.
Judge Molina Peña pointed out that this effort, in which judges and all judicial servants will be involved, will be strengthened with the commissioning next year of the new courthouse being built in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este, which will be benchmark for the entire country and region.
He said that the new building will have 29 courtrooms equipped with all the technological tools and with differentiated access for judges, prosecutors, lawyers and prisoners. Likewise, it will have a digital reception, a waiting room for lawyers, victims and witnesses, a press room and many other facilities for users of the justice service.
The president of the SCJ pointed out that this new building for the Judiciary will be next to the Public Ministry and Public Defense, forming what is known in other countries as a judicial city. The work, which is in charge of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, is expected to be completed by 2023 and that later the construction of two similar buildings will begin in the municipalities of Santo Domingo Norte and Oeste.
The words of welcome were pronounced by the coordinator of the Judicial Department of Santo Domingo, Judge Yadira De Moya Kunhardt, who valued the Strategic Plan of the Judicial Power Vision Justice 20/24, for understanding that it is inclusive, comprehensive and integrating, whose goal is to offer users an inclusive, timely, efficient and reliable judicial service within the Justice Up to Date strategy to guarantee the dignity of people.
The president of the SCJ was accompanied by the magistrates of that high court, Justiniano Montero, judge of the First Chamber; Moisés Ferrer Landrón, from the Third Chamber; Blas Fernández, representative of the Judicial Power Council; and by the counselor Octavia Fernández.
Molina Peña has held meetings similar to this one in the judicial departments of Barahona, San Juan de la Maguana and San Cristóbal, in which he has highlighted the importance of strengthening the integrity system, which protects the independence of judges of the nation.
