During 2022, the Federal Judiciary (PJF) received 540,047 attempted computer attacks on its Internet sites and nearly 4 million emails containing viruses or other threats to its computer networks were blocked, reveals a report of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN).

In February 2019, the Internet sites of the highest court and the Federal Judicial Council (CJF) were the targets of a cyberattack that took them out of service for several hours. The situation was repeated in June 2020, which left not only the SCJN page inoperative, but also the Comprehensive File Monitoring System (SISE), a mechanism used by litigants and users in general to find out about the processing of their claims. matters in all federal courts and tribunals in the country.

To avoid a repetition of these effects, last January the Cybersecurity Operations Center of the SCJN was launched, whose function is to the protection of information contained in the legal and administrative systems, as well as the websites of the Supreme Court, computer equipment, servers and, in general, the institutional network.

The center is in charge of safeguarding the computer security of 76 PJF websites, to which the more than half a million registered hacking attempts were directed, a situation that led to configuring and updating their SSL security certificates.

Emails containing threats, such as computer viruses, phishing, malware and malicious URLs, among others, totaled 3,945,352, out of a total of 7,215,697 messages received during the year.

This means that more than half of the external emails directed to the PJF computers, 54.68 percent, contained some dangerous content.

Additionally, 2,107 unauthorized remote access attempts to the SJCN and CJF computer systems were reported, which were blocked as soon as they were detected.

The report indicates that there was an attempt to impersonate the official portal of the SCJN, by publishing the apocryphal site http://www.scjnmx.comwhich was denounced and discharged.

The SCJN guaranteed that none of these hacking attempts were successful: No attacks materialized that affected the computer assets of this high court, therefore the integrity and availability of the institutional information contained in them was safeguarded..
