Judiciary cuts expenses on food, consultancies and contracts

The president of the Javier Arévalo Vela, announced the execution of a series of austerity measures within that State power, which will enter into force on March 31.

The austerity measures include the reduction in food consumption expenses and external consulting contracts; as well as the prohibition of signing contracts under the provisions of the Public Sector Management Support Fund (FAG) in the Judiciary.

Arévalo Vela, it was reported, sent to the general manager of the Judiciary, Jaime Gómez Velardeofficial letters 00016-2023-P-PJ, 00017-2023-P-PJ and 00018-2023-P-PJ, whose matters describe: external consulting expenses, food expenses and prohibition to sign FAG contracts, respectively.

No more consultancies

In the first official letter, the president of the Judiciary requests the general management not enter into external consultancy contracts during this budget year.

In the second official letter, he requests the aforementioned office to provide mausterity measures that it considers pertinent in relation to food expenses that they could exist.

And, finally, in the third official letter, it communicates that as of March 31 of this year, the signing of contracts under the provisions of the Public Sector Management Support Fund (FAG) in the Judiciary is strictly prohibited.

It also provides that the Institutional Control Body be requested to evaluate the FAG contracts entered into in the 2021-2022 financial year.
