Judiciary and ENJ will hold the Second International Conference on Judicial Communication

The Dominican Judiciary and the National School of the Judiciary (ENJ) announced the celebration of the Second International Conference on Judicial Communicationa meeting that will bring together jurists, communicators, academics and businessmen from different countries with the aim of delving into the role of judicial communication as an essential tool to strengthen citizen confidence in justice.

The conference, coordinated by the Judge Francisco Ortega Polancojudge of the Supreme Court of Justice and national director of the Chair of Justice and Communication Dr. Adriano Miguel Tejadawill develop from November 26 to 27 in it Hotel El Embajador. The opening remarks will be given by Judge Henry Molinapresident of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Council of the Judiciary.

During a meeting with the press, the magistrate Ortega Polanco He highlighted that judicial communication has been consolidated as an autonomous professional and academic field at an international level, focused on people and the right of all citizens to understand how the judicial system works.

“It is essential that the Judiciary communicate clearly and openly with users. Justice is a fundamental right that must be accessible to everyone,” said Ortega Polanco.

The conference will include thematic panels on key topics such as the Press and the Judiciary in the digital era: challenges, challenges and perspectives; Technological innovation of communication and judicial processes; Media management in the digital age; Judicial Communication, Technology and Practice; and Judicial journalism, freedom of expression and the right to information.

Among the international guests appear Juan Luis Cebriánfounder of the newspaper The Country and international director of the Justice and Communication Chair; Juan Carlos Cortejudge of the Constitutional Court of Colombia; Ezequiel Klassof the Supreme Court of Justice of the Province of Buenos Aires; María Lucy Dávila Yévenesof the Judicial Branch of Chile; José Roberto Dutrizpresident of the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA); Ileana Baezof the Judicial Branch of Puerto Rico; Adolfo Javier De Unanue Tiscareñoexpert in artificial intelligence; Fernanda Sobrinoresearcher; Homeland Frias Columbusjudge of the Supreme Court of New York; and the journalist and academic Jorge Ramos.

At the national level, they will participate Manuel Corripio Alonsofrom the Corripio Group; Manuel Estrellapresident of Multimedios del Caribe; Frank Rainierifrom the Free Daily Group; Alicia Ortegadirector of the SIN Group; Persio Maldonadodirector of The New Diary; Fausto Rosario Adamesof Accent; Edith Feblesof The Day; and Julissa Cespedesfrom CDN, among others. They will also intervene Javier Cabrejageneral coordinator of Communications and Public Affairs of the Judiciary, and Ricy Bidodirector of Technology of the institution.

They call for the Second Judicial Communication Contest

During the same meeting, the opening of the Second Judicial Communication Contestconvened by the Justice and Communication Chair Dr. Adriano Miguel Tejada of the ENJ.

The contest will reward the three best journalistic works on judicial issues in the categories written press (print or digital) and audiovisualin addition to the International Justice and Press Awardwhich will recognize an outstanding figure for his contributions to freedom of expression and democracy.

The jury will be made up of the Judge Francisco Ortega Polancohe Dr. Juan Luis Cebrián, Jorge Ramoshe president of the Dominican College of Journalists, Luis Pérez Novasand the president of the Dominican Media Society, Persio Maldonado. The award ceremony will be held on November 27during the closing of the conference.

The objective of this recognition is promote quality journalistic production and promote more effective communication between justice and society, strengthening transparency and citizen trust in judicial institutions.
