The Judiciary declared the appeal filed by Martin Vizcarra and authorized his trip to the cities of Ancash, La Libertad, Lambayeque and Piura from September 12 to 18.
In this way, the Third National Criminal Court of Appeals revoked Resolution No. 115, of last August 16, issued by the Fifth National Preparatory Investigation Court.
Said instance had declared unfounded the travel request made by the technical defense of the former head of state, who must now provide documented information on the activities carried out in said regions on the dates indicated.
However, the court declared Vizcarra Cornejo’s appeal unfounded, regarding the authorization of his trip to the city of Tumbeswith which the end of what was decided by the Fifth National Preparatory Investigation Court was confirmed.
In its resolution, the Third Criminal Chamber detailed that the cities that are the object of the trip do not present criteria that flight risksexcept for the one that constitutes the border (Tumbes), which requires greater precautions.
It should be noted that Martín Vizcarra is investigated for the alleged commission of the crime of aggravated collusion and others to the detriment of the State for the Lomas de Ilo irrigation project and the Moquegua Hospital.
The former president has been fulfilling an appearance mandate with restrictions subject to rules of conduct, including the obligation not to be absent from the town where he resides without prior judicial authorization.
