This Sunday, the country will experience a democratic day with the partial judicial elections. In Santa Cruz, 1,991,124 citizens will be able to exercise their right to vote from 8:00 to 16:00, as long as they present their valid identity card, the only valid document to pay.
The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) reiterated that other documents, such as passport, driver’s license or military service booklet, will not be accepted. Those who do not go to vote will face fines of up to 500 bolivianos and restrictions to carry out procedures in public and financial entities.

In the department of Santa Cruz, voters will receive two ballots:
National: To elect magistrates to the Agro-Environmental Court (green stripe) and to the Judicial Council (light blue stripe).
Departmental: To elect representatives to the Supreme Court of Justice in differentiated bands for women (orange) and men (gray).
Marking more than one option in the same strip will void the vote. Unmarked votes will be considered white.
Due to a constitutional resolution, Santa Cruz will not elect representatives to the Plurinational Constitutional Court, since the preselection of candidates was declared void.
Sanctions and exceptions
Voting is mandatory for citizens between 18 and 70 years old. In addition to the financial fine, those who do not vote They will not be able to hold public office or carry out financial procedures.
For exceptional cases, such as medical emergencies or travel, the Departmental Electoral Tribunal will grant impediment certificates. These can be managed until January 14, 2025.
When will the results be available?
María Cristina Claros, president of the Departmental Electoral Tribunal of Santa Cruz, assured that the process will be transparent and that preliminary results will be available from 8:00 p.m. on Sunday through exit poll studies. The final results will be published within a maximum period of seven days.
“Citizens have a fundamental role in this democratic event. We invite everyone to participate responsibly to strengthen justice in our country,” Claros highlighted.
