While López Obrador was walking down the street with the governor of Veracruz, Cuitlahuac García, a bottle of water was thrown at him, but it did not touch the president and fell to the ground.
The aides stood in front of the president, but seconds later they continued on their way to the premises. While the cries of rejection continued, supporters also shouted slogans such as “it is an honor to be with Obrador!” while the president raised his fists in a sign of victory and greeted the attendees.
Prior to the arrival of the officials, protesters from the Judiciary clashed with alleged Morena supporters by pushing and shouting.
