The former Minister of Finance, Donald Guerrero, accused in the so-called Squid operation, was favored with the variation of the coercive measure from preventing exit to only periodic presentation.
The decision was made by Judge Altagracia Ramírez, of the Fourth Investigative Court of the National District, who accepted the request of the former official’s defense to replace the measure.
Guerrero’s lawyer, Manuel Rodríguez, said that the judge understood that his client does not represent a flight risk and that, therefore, he will not withdraw from the process against him.
Others involved in this case are Gonzalo Castillo, José Ramón Peralta, Julián Omar Fernández, Princesa García Medina, Oscar Arturo Chalas, Rafael Parmenio Rodríguez, Omar Manuel Miqui, Rosa Arias, Agustín Mejía Avita and Marino Enrique Cabrera.
