Judge Urrutia sues 19 ministers of the Court of Appeals and one of the Supreme

The judge of the Seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago, Daniel Urrutiapresented during this day a criminal complaint against 19 ministers of the Court of Appeals of Santiago and a minister of the Supreme Court, for judicial prevarication.

It should be noted that Urrutia released 13 young people – who were in preventive detention – charged with the crime of public disorder and accused of being part of the “front line” in the framework of the social outbreak. In March 2020, the ministers of the higher court revoked said resolution.

The problem escalated when the ministers not only suspended the judge’s decision, but also opened an administrative investigation against him. The magistrate was suspended and transferred to a Collection Court.

A few days ago, the Seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago decided to reject the dismissal of the ministers, who used the right to remain silent.

Defending

The defense attorneys filed an appeal which must be reviewed by the same court where the defendants work, for this reason, this court filing will be reviewed by non-disqualified magistrates.

The accused of the Court of Appeals, are Guillermo de la Barra, Miguel Vásquez, María Soledad Melo, Jéssica González, Marisol Rojas, Mireya López, Jaime Balmaceda, Alejandro Riveros, Paola Plaza, Dobra Lusic, María Rosa Kistteiner, Lilian Leyton, Jenny Book, Gloria Solis, Elsa Barrientos, Inelie Duran, Alberto Amiot, Rafael Andrade Y Juan Carlos Silva Opazo. Meanwhile, the magistrate of the Supreme Court questioned is Adelita Ravanales.

Ministers are represented by public criminal defenders Octavio Sufan, Alejandra Lobos Y Barbara Antiverus.
