Judge stops change of name of the colony "Fourth transformation" in Edomex

According to the file 134/2025the demand promoted by several residents of the place known as Fimesa II and III, belonging to the southern zone of the municipality of Tultitlán, whose streets were changed by names as support for older adults; Mexican aviation; Judicial reform, Felipe Ángeles and Youth Airport building the future, alluding to programs and actions of the federal government.

The amparo was promoted since December 13, 2024.

The claimed act was the change of name to “the fourth transformation”, alluding to the federal government and the policies implemented by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The amparo was granted on January 20 by the federal authority and notified this January 23 to the lawyers already involved.

With this action, the government of Tultitlán, State of Mexico, will not be able to carry out administrative and legal actions on the land and places located in the two reference colonies and in the 47 streets that were changed its name.

On February 20, it is scheduled for the constitutional hearing to determine whether the amparo is effective in its entirety or in its case an agreement with the municipality is reached so as not to make the change of nomenclatures effective.

The “The Fourth Transformation” colony is made up of the places FIMESA II and FIMESA IIIirregularly occupied by more than 3,000 families for more than three decades on the land of the former San Francisco Chilpan ejido. Previously, the streets in these places bore names of fruits, flowers and jewels.

On November 20, 2024 he was published in the Official Gazette of the municipality of Tultitlán an agreement by which the municipal presidency and the council approved by majority the creation of the colony “The fourth transformation.”

The modification of article 9 of the 2024 municipal side was also approved, in which it is established that both places form a single territory and the number of colonies in the southern zone of the municipality of Tultitlán goes from 36 to 37.

The creation of the “The Fourth Transformation” colony brought with it a change of nomenclatures of 47 streets and the installation of their respective plates that record the municipal decision.

Among the names are “Justice in Pasta de Conchos”, “Airport Felipe Ángeles”, “Energy sovereignty”, “Tianguis of well -being”, “sowing life” and “working mothers”.
