Santiago. A judge of the Civil and Commercial Chamber of the Court of First Instance of the Judicial District here rejected the appeal filed by a neighborhood board and an environmental institution to avoid the construction of the monorriel by the university cast, claiming that it affected the environment and natural resources of that area.
Judge Alicia Mabel Guzmán made the decision after several hearings were held in which the positions of the plaintiffs and the defendants were heard.

According to the sentence, the builders of the road work, which will impact broad urban sectors of this city, have not violated the permits granted by official bodies and also have the number 475-24 permission of the Ministry of Environment to execute it.
The judicial process, which included several public hearings, knew the allegations of the University Board of the University Distribution, as well as the Tropical Ecological Foundation (Foundotrop) and analysis of the evidence presented, the court concluded that no irregularity had been demonstrated in the route of the monorriel.

However, the Tropical Ecological Foundation rejected the decision of the Civil and Commercial Chamber of this city, reiterating that as the Monorriel is conceived, when passing through the university cast it will affect a green area of the place and a spring and several species of fauna and flora, some in extinction.
