Santo Domingo.- The Permanent Attention Office of Santo Domingo Este postponed until Monday, December 23 at 6:00 in the afternoon the hearing of the request for a measure of coercion against an Air Force captain and a civilian accused of the death of a second lieutenant in the Hainamosa sector.

These are Air Force Captain Fraulin Gabriel Pérez Camacho and civilian Stiven Herrera, involved in the death of Second Lieutenant Bienvenido Reyes Chalas.

The judge adopted the measure so that defense lawyers can document the case.

The Public Ministry requested 18 months of preventive detention for the accused and that the case be declared complex.

The Public Ministry establishes that last Monday, Reyes Chalas, who was playing dominoes with friends in the Hainamosa sector, Santo Domingo Este, was attacked by Stiven, who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle accompanied by Tommy Antonio Ortiz and another known as ‘ El Gordo’.

In the file deposited, the Public Ministry establishes that the events occurred at dawn last Monday, the 16th of this month, while Reyes Chalas was playing a game of dominoes, in the company of several friends on 3rd Street. from the Hainamosa sector, Santo Domingo Este municipality, when he was attacked by the accused Stiven Herrera, who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle in the company of Tommy Antonio Ortiz and alias El “Gordo”, the latter two being fugitives.

Likewise, the document indicates that, upon realizing the situation, Reyes Chalas tried to take out his service weapon, but Ortiz jumped off the motorcycle and fired several shots at him, causing a wound from a firearm projectile, with an entry hole in right hemithorax, with no exit, which ended up causing his death, according to the body removal report No. 91702.

Upon observing that the deceased was wounded and defenseless, they stripped him of his firearm and a gold chain that he was wearing around his neck, and fled the scene. The fact was captured by local security cameras.

The Public Ministry and the Department of High-Tech Crimes and Crimes of the National Police (DICAT), when carrying out the survey, managed to identify the Toyota brand vehicle, Land Cruiser model, white, license plate No. G240236, registered in the name of the conscript of the Air Force, Odailyn Ezequiel Santana Encarnación.

According to the investigation by the prosecution body, this vehicle had previously passed by where the deceased was playing dominoes, and two of the people got out of it and subsequently boarded the motorcycle to go commit the act, returning to that same vehicle upon consummating the criminal action. .

When interviewed, Santana Encarnación indicated that he lent the vehicle to the now accused Captain Pérez Camacho, which led the Public Ministry to execute arrest warrant No. 973-2024-EMES-15655, against both accused last Monday, 17 of this month.

At the time of being arrested, Herrera was seized with a Taurus pistol-type firearm, caliber 9 mm, serial No. TER21429, with its charger and fourteen (14) capsules of the same caliber, which he was carrying illegally. and that when it was purged, it was found that it had been stolen in San Pedro de Macorís.

When interviewed, in the presence of his lawyer, Herrera admitted the facts, positioning himself as the person seen in the videos, who is in the middle of the motorcycle that intercepts the deceased, carrying a firearm and indicated that he was contacted by Pérez Camacho to commit the act.
