Judge imputes charges to transporter involved in running over protesters in Horconcitos

A judge of guarantees in the province of Chiriquí considered the charges filed for the crime of attempted murder against a 32-year-old subject involved in the running over of protesters in Horconcitos, San Lorenzo, Chiriquí.

In addition, the precautionary measures of periodic reporting once a week and prohibition of leaving the province of Bocas del Toro were decreed.

The Public Ministry and the private technical defense announced an appeal against the precautionary measures imposed by the guarantee judge. This hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, July 27 at 2:30 p.m.

The events were recorded at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, when a group of drivers who reported having been stuck on the Inter-American highway for more than 24 hours, as a result of street closures in the province of Chiriquí, proceeded to pass by force, which led to the running over of several demonstrators.
