The magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) Ileana Perez Lopez made his formal resignation, alleging supposed health reasons. The decision was made public through a letter addressed to the first secretary of the National Assembly, Loria Dixon, after it became known that she had been detained and taken to the Judicial Assistance Directorate (DAJ), known as El Chipote, in Managua. .
In the letter dated October 21, Pérez addressed Dixon justifying the reasons. “I am writing to you in order to present my resignation from the position of Magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice for health reasons and that require care, making the position available to you after having worked for eight years for having been elected on December 25. November 2014,” said the magistrate.

“Consequently, in accordance with articles 138, paragraph 11 of the Political Constitution of the Republic of Nicaragua, I hereby request you, honorable deputy, to submit my resignation to the Presidency of the National Assembly and the Board of Directors for his position, that is, that my resignation from the position of Magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice be processed, admitted and accepted,” he added.
At the same time, the Sandinista magistrate said “thank” the Ortega regime “for the trust placed in me. My highest esteem and consideration to you and eternal gratitude for giving me the opportunity to serve the country.
After learning of the alleged decision of Ileana Pérez, the lawyer Yader Morazana specialist in the administration of justice and former official of the Nicaraguan Judiciary, recalled that the magistrate’s “resignation” took place “despite the fact that on October 20 they sent her to simulate “normality.”

Pérez would have been stripped of her judicial responsibilities before the constituency of the departments of Rivas and Granada, which could mean that the regime subjected her to an investigation.
